Damn, Henry, a Gathering at a Salmon Club!!?? Am I correct in presuming that tweeds and bridle leather will be de riguer? Sounds like a fabulous venue. For those of us whom can't make it please take your camera and post a story.

The rods you guys are making today would cause Hiram, Edwards and the Paynes as well as Fred Devine to crap their pants then giggle like boys peeking into the girls' locker room as they strung them up and laid out the first casts.

Penobscot Rodmakers' Gathering
In several years I've yet to see tweeds or bridle leather. Just a low-key gathering with an equal mix of education and sociability, and an occasional single-cask bourbon. Friday is a dinner and rod-cast exercise, Saturday is the actual program and Sunday is a trip to the East Outlet of Moosehead lake, the headwaters of the Kennebec river.
Not a bad way to spend the weekend, Henry.
