I've been away for a while what with work, family etc. taking me away from my dream of building a cane rod. I've got the bug again real bad so I've been accumulating the rest of the tools and materials I need to get this show on the road. I've also added to my library of books on all things bamboo.This week while I was in my local fly shop (Fisherman's Spot in Van Nuys) I stumbled upon a beautiful hardbound book about bamboo rods and rodmaking that I hadn't heard of. The price seemed a little stiff at $130 but it was a book I'd never seen. I was worried that if I passed it up I'd never see it again. I quickly checked Amazon to see if they had it and there was one going for over $600! Needless to say I snapped this one up while I had the chance. There are (or were) 3 remaining copies in Fisherman's Spot if anyone has to have a copy. I believe they have a website if you're interested.
